Product Overview
The main power of the pneumatic simple door closer comes from the internal spring (usually a helical spring). When the door is pushed open, the spring is compressed to store elastic potential energy. After releasing the hand, the spring releases energy to push the door closed. At the same time, the door closer has a damping system formed by a cylinder-piston structure and compressed gas (such as air) inside.
When the door opens, the piston moves within the cylinder, compressing the gas inside. The gas is confined in a limited space. When the door closes, the spring pushes the piston to move in the opposite direction. The compressed gas needs to be released slowly through small holes or adjustable valves on the cylinder. The resistance of the gas flow will slow down the movement of the piston, thereby controlling the closing speed of the door and avoiding a rapid impact.
