Non-fire door hinges cannot be installed for fire doors.

A safety standard metal fire door requires: a door hinge with fire-resistant function and easy disassembly; a lock with a fire-proof function that can quickly open the function; a durable fire-resistant mortise lock that can withstand a fire resistance of more than 2200 lb. If one of them does not have fire resistance, the fire rated door is a failed fire door. Moreover, it is a legal obligation to install fire door hardware on fire door. The new European standard EN 1634:2014 requires frames, door and door hardware must be tested and certified.

Consider the impact on a fire to the door. The door must block the fire to at least 30 minutes, but usually withstand temperatures in excess of 1000 degrees Celsius. The door is warped and charred, and there are often considerable air pressure differences in both sides of the door. Ordinary hinges will quickly deform. The fireproof certified hinge can be tested by a temperature of 1000 ° C for 180 minutes and then over the hose flow test: a 3 minute test in which the door is repeatedly subjected to a test of the impact on the water flow under pressure.
