  • In the realm of safety and emergency preparedness, the significance of panic exit devices cannot be overstated. These devices, commonly found on exit doors, are ingeniously designed to allow quick and unhindered egress during emergencies. Given the unpredictable nature of emergencies, the installati

To make our home life secure, the security door Rim Exit Device is to have strong and durable characteristics, at the same time, the security door Rim Exit Device must also be convenient to apply, if the security door Rim Exit
  • The device and its accessories must be chosen taking account of the type of user:
    • devices placed on the market after 1 July 2013 and intended for use by the general public must be CE Marked to BS EN 1125 – Panic exit devices operated by a horizontal bar, and preferably provided with additional product certification by an approved third party certification body.
    • devices placed on the market after 1 July 2013 for use by trained personnel must be CE Marked to BS EN 179 - Emergency exit devices operated by a lever handle or push-pad, and preferably provided with additional product certification by an approved third party certification body.
  • Door design considerations mainly as below:1, Where the building and inner door located2, Direction of the flow of people in the building3, Number of people the building expecting4, It is a fire resistant and heat insulated door Main concern points for this configuration are:1, Safety Door opening
  • Public buildings like most industrial and commercial premises are required to meet the conflicting need for both safety and security. Regulations relating to escape from buildings and general safety have made it desirable that doors at exits in public buildings, places of public entertainment, shops, etc, be fitted with panic exit devices.
The main purpose of a panic exit device is to give safe and effective escape through a doorway with minimum effort and without prior knowledge of the device.
  • Exit devices are available in two design styles
  • The surface vertical rod exit device mounts to the surface of the door. A top and a bottom rod extend the full height of the door and are attached to latch-bolt assemblies. The top latch-bolt assembly engages a strike that can be either surface-applied or mortised into the soffit of the frame. The bottom latch-bolt assembly can latch into a surface-applied or mortise strike in the floor. A latch-track threshold can also serve as a strike to secure the bottom latch-bolt assembly. Similar to rim exit devices, the operating trim extends through the door thickness and engages the lock case of the exit device.
The clearance between the door bottom and the finished floor is an important dimension that needs to be addressed. Depending on the design of the latch-bolt assembly and the strike, the doors may have to be ordered with a non-standard undercut to ensure the latch-bolt can properly engage the strike.
  • An exit device is a piece of hardware mounted on the push side of a door. It is designed to release a latching mechanism in the event of panic. Exit devices are intended to operate without prior knowledge or training when pressure is applied to horizontal bar or push pad mounted to the door.
Because of their direct effect upon life safety, exit devices are one of the most important hardware items in a building.
Panic Hardware and Fire Exit Hardware are two different types of exit devices, and the proper selection is determined by code requirements.
  • The necessity of panic exit device The scene of the fire is unpredictable. First, people inhale a large amount of smoke and cause fatigue and even loss of consciousness. If it is an ordinary handle lock or ball lock for an escape door, let alone pulling down or turning the handle to push the door ou
  • Fire Exit Hardware is an exit device which is tested for both panic and fire conditions and is required to be used on fire doors where panic hardware is required by code or desired for durability. Since fire doors require positive-latching, fire exit hardware does not incorporate mechanical dogging. If a push/pull function is desired for a fire door, electric latch retraction hardware may be installed, as long as the latch projects automatically upon fire alarm.
  • Fire Rated Double Door Hardware is suitable for Auditorium Exits Double Door, Escape Gallery Double Door, Gallery Double Door, Lift Lobby, Stairwell Emergency Exit Double Door, Stairwell Emergency Exit Double Door, etc.
  • The fire rating classification of the wall into which the door is installed dictates the required fire rating of the door. The location of the wall in the building and prevailing building code establish the wall's fire rating.
  • A fire can be devastating to company property, but it doesn't have to be if you take into account fire-rated wood doors. With the right products, a fire can be controlled to minimize damage and provide safety to employees and customers.
  • Steel fire doors are "rated" by time (in minutes or hours) that a door can withstand exposure to fire test conditions. Hourly ratings include 1-1/2-hours, 1-hour, 3/4-hour, and 1/3-hour, with the maximum rating required of any swinging type fire door being three hours.
  • There can be confusion in the marketing of door hardware when it comes to products that are "fire rated". When you scan through a suppliers catalog you will often find the notation that the hardware is "fire rated". But non fire rated door Hardware and fire rated door Hardware are two different types of door device.

  • Metal doors, most commonly used in buildings, have changed from being used outdoors to being used indoors (instead of wooden doors).Hardware is the most important determinant of Metal Door Quality.
Let's introduce the hardware commonly used for Metal Doors.
  • The panic exit device is also called fire escape lock. It is mainly used in the emergency exit doors of large supermarkets, shopping malls, office buildings, hospitals, schools, factory buildings and other public places with large flow. It has the function of preventing outsiders from entering the interior without permission and achieving the safe escape of insiders in case of fire and other emergencies.
  • The general term for metal and non-metal products and accessories installed in buildings or structures. Generally, the utility model has double effects of utility and decoration. Door hardware refers to all kinds of metal and non-metal accessories installed on the building door. There are building lock, handle, support, hinge, door closer, handle, bolt, anti-theft chain, door closing device, etc.
  • It is desirable that doors at final exit in public buildings, places of intertainment, shops etc should be fitted with panic devices operated by a horizontal bar or touch bar. the emphasis for products coverd by this standard on safe exit rather than security.
