Customer A is leading Fire rated & NFR Steel door factory in MENA（Middle east & North Africa） market,D&D successfully helps A to lower cost of doors,increase profits and market shares by supplying international Branded quality & Certified ANSI UL/BS EN door hardware at factory cost.
-Background:
About customer A:
A is one of the biggest Steel door factory with more than 50 years of experience supplying Fire rated(UL & BS476) and NFR Steel doors to MENA market,they have good relationship with Consulting offices, Government and Private institutions.
Challenge:
A was bidding for a project with total package more than 5,000 swing doors,the project owner gave a Challenging Budget which A has to find a way to reduce cost but NO compromise on quality.
Back then A was using hardware items from a International leading brand,the hardware items occupy big part of total cost of door,the premium of branding + profits from levels of local brand dealers which caused A purchased hardware at expensive cost.
There was an idea came up in A’s team:Is there a way to reduce cost of hardware by paying for only the hardware’s quality itself?So A’s team started to search for source of hardware factories,but the results were not satisfied as most of factories are non-certified or produce certified item in single standard only which means A will need to set up a import team to deal with different suppliers and spend cost on combining shipments. A was expecting a factory who can offer one-stop service and able to understand their demands.
The start of the great partnership:
One day, A noticed D&D hardware appeared on Approved door hardware supplier list of couple other ongoing projects in consulting office with both BS EN and ANSI UL collections approved,so A reached out to D&D immediately,with expectation of professional hardware solutions at affordable total cost,and of course with one-stop service.

1,Hardware consulting
As member of DHI and APAHAS, D&D engineer team has average 15 years experience in door opening solutions field and has rich experience working with Steel door factories around the world. After got door schedule from A,D&D enginner team proposed hardware sets which matched with door specification/function/budget.
For example,based on door Size/door Location of building/estimated Daily Traffic times/Security Administration requirement,D&D proposed suitable Door closer/Hinge/Exit device/Locks & Master key planning to meet requirements of Mechanical/Technical/Budget perfectly.
2, International Branded quality with valid certification hardwares at factory cost:
Benefit from over 12 years OEM experience for leading hardware brands from Euro & US and ISO 9001 quality management system,D&D can supply branded quality hardware items at factory cost to customers,every penny spend on certified quality.
All BS EN and ANSI UL certifications under D&D name are valid and can be tracked on certification body’s website online,the certification issued by authoritative 3rd party labs(Intertek,UL) are the solid proof of quality.
D&D’s quote met the budget and requirement of quality/certification of the project.Next step is to get approval from consultant office,it will need to submit Certifications,Technical datasheet and Physical samples.
3,Sharing Certificate performance with A brand:
A’s door are UL/BS476 Fire rated and projects require all hardware to be certified,since A don’t have hardware certification under its own name,D&D issued an Official letter to certify that D&D is appointed manufacturer for A brand door hardware under certified production facilities/standard and ISO 9001 quality management system,hence A brand hardware items share same performance as D&D’s certification.
Further,D&D issue Declaration of Conformity to certify that specific models of A equal to D&D’s model listed on D&D certification,with certified standard/file number and valid certification attached.
4,Making Technical datasheet under A brand:
To get approval from consultant groups,it is required to submit physical samples together with Technical datasheet.D&D engineer team prepared Technical datasheet for A brand door hardware,which A’s engineer team can focus all their energy working on door schedules with A’s customer.
With aboved documents submitted together with physical samples,A brand door hardware were approved by consultant office.
5,Designing A brand packing & A logo on all items:
Apart from purchasing hardware items for A’s own door production,A is also eager to enlarge their business into hardware field. D&D designing team proposed couple of packing designs for A to choose,A is happy with the designs which meet A’s sprit and visualization perfectly.Moreover,the designing was free of cost which A saved a big sum of money from hiring designer.
Moreover,D&D produce all items with A brand logo, this way can increase exposure of A brand which brings more business inquiry and opportunities.
6,Shipment solutions:
It was the very first time for A to import and A had no clue about the import documents/procedure and how to get the materials.However,with the help from D&D experienced shipment team,A’s worry no longer exist.
D&D has shipment agent partners whom worked together more than 10 years,they can always recommend the best shipping schedule and reliable shipping at best cost.When materials arrive at port,all necessary documents for customs clearance are delivered to A and A got the materials all in good conditions under guidance from D&D team.
7,Detailed QC report:
To protect the benefit of A and make sure production comply to order requirements before shipping, detailed QC reports were sent to A.D&D QC team members all have experience served at International leading hardware brands,all QC checking are done strictly according to Standard operating procedures.
QC reports include details like Product pictures,Logo markings on items,Measurements of Item,Measurements of Accessories like Screws,Compatibility of item & accessories,Inner box,Label on Inner box,Marks on Outside carton,Marks on Pallets,Loading pictures in Container etc.
After received the QC report,A felt confident with production quality and excited to wait for arrival of materials.
8,Installation guidance & After-sales support:
When materials delivered to A’s workshop,A’s worker started to install hardware onto the doors,all items suit into door cut-out perfectly.Door hardware fit into Steel door cut-out is extremely important.
When installing door closers,A’s worker were not quite sure how to adjust the Back check & Delay valves properly,D&D guided by video calling right away which installation were finish on time.

With the support from D&D team,customer A won the project out of 8 competitors and executed the project right on schedule successfully.The owner was happy and A was awarded with several project from same owner in the coming times.
